I just love these little guys....

I figured before I have to pack everything up I'd get some cards done, so for the past couple weeks I've been trying to do a card every night or two. I'm caught up through May with my birthday and anniversary cards.

We used this stamp last month while making Cards for Heroes and I just fell in love with it. The actual stamp itself is just the turtles. I made these tonight for CFH. Speaking of CFH, did you see the video? It was so moving and exciting it made me cry.

While I was coloring these I started thinking about how I use to love to color when I was a kid (don't tell Dorothy I used that word!!) as most of us probably did. Of course, I'm not any better at it now than I was back then!! Though maybe I was better then because when I was younger my eyesight was clearer!

I've decided I'm not packing my stamps and accessories until the last minute. I have packed up my scrapbooks and pictures since I haven't worked on any of that stuff in forever anyway. Maybe after we move I'll set aside a day a week just for scrapbooking. Now that I'm into stamping, it'll be fun to incorporate stamping and scrapbooking.

Guess that's it for today. Enjoy your evening. God bless.

Another Saturday in Tuckerton

On Saturday, March 21 I again traveled down to One Little Spark in Tuckerton for a crafting class. This time Dawn taught us about beeswax! We also learned how to make our own flowers. There were 11 of us there including five women who came all the way from Philly.

I could only stay for the first creation. You'll have to check out Dawn's blog to find out about what they did after I left.

L-R starting at the top are creations by Kathy, Sharon and myself.

It was a fun time and I loved learning how to do something new. Though, of course, the hard part will be remembering how to do what I've learned!!

Besides this, I also love to shop in the store! I bought some new stamps and more Fun Flock. Can't wait to be able to use them.

When we finally move to TN, I'm gonna miss these special Saturdays spent with Dawn but in the meatime, I'll enjoy as many as I can. Until next time....

God bless and happy creating!

It's Here!

It's here! It's here! It's finally Spring!!!! Yeah! Hip hip hooray!! Woo hoo!!! Yes!!

Do you think I'm excited?

Of course, the weather isn't necessarily Spring-like, but the calendar says it is and that's fine by me!

The flowers are starting to come up and plants are starting to bud. I trimmed back my butterfly bushes last weekend, which is my thing to do this time of year.

And, according to the migration map, the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are on their way!!! The last time I checked, they were in North Carolina. Pretty soon I'll be getting my feeders up.

I love Spring! The days are getting longer and little by little the temperature is getting warmer.

Though I realize it's only the middle of March and any type of weather can happen such as a huge snowstorm, it's still Spring!!

Until next time.....

Child's BD Card

Good evening, or I really should say good morning!

I was laying in bed having a good sleep and dreaming about something I don't remember but in my dream someone yelled out from another room and it sounded so real it woke me up! Needless to say, when I wake up in the middle of the night like this (which is most nights) I don't usually go back to sleep for quite awhile....until just before the alarm goes off.

After praying for awhile, I got to thinking about my blog and the cardmaking I've done the past couple of days. Since we're in the middle of preparing to move one of these days and I have to get ready soon to pack up my craftroom, I've been trying to get upcoming BD and Anniversary cards done.

Those of you who know me personally know my personal creativity extends to plain and simple! Oh, I can take someone else's creation and turn it into my own but to come up with an idea myself is alot harder. I love that my DDs can take a blank page and instantly come up with an idea!

It's even harder for me to make children's cards. Of course, I don't have too many stamps for making cards for children so that doesn't help! I've never made a card for any of my grands because of these facts but have always bought them. Last weekend when we had our Cards for Heroes party and I saw some of the women using the children's Stampin' Up stamps I brought (I've had them but never used them), I decided I'd give it a try.

But, shhhhhhh, don't tell Hannah!

Since pink is her favorite color, it wasn't hard to choose the paper. This little guy I bought at the One Little Spark store last weekend. I cuttlebugged using the Happy Birthday embossing folder. I just love the penquins. I plan to get some more. I used Dawn's baby oil technique in the coloring. She also introduced me to the Fun Flock which I used on his belly. It's so neat....and easy!

I was thrilled with how this little girl came out!! Hannah loves to wear dresses. Don't you think this looks like her, Dawn?! Of course, I have to tell you that the first time I tried putting the arms on, I had them backwards which would be fine for someone who is double jointed!! :-)

Anyway, this is my first attempt at a card for one of the children in my life but it won't be the last!

Good night and God bless,
Linda
