New Year's Eve Fun

And, what are you doing tonight? Something more fun and exciting than what I've been doing I'm sure!

Considering we're planning to move I've been cleaning out kitchen cabinets, deciding what to keep, what to throw away or give away. The top of my cabinets are filled with wicker baskets. I had to decide if I wanted to take them with me. Finally decided, after talking with DH, that yes, I will. So, had to clean them all since it's been quite awhile and they were filled with dust!! That's one thing about moving....you get things cleaned that haven't been cleaned in ages!

I have a nice long four day weekend so decided I will use the time to pack up as much stuff as I can. It has to be done sooner or later, so might as well do it while I have the time. When I stop to think about all that has to be done, I've found myself getting overwhelmed but figured if I take one room at a time that will work. I was looking at the big picture and it was too much.

One upside to all this work is that by the end of the night I'm so tired I find myself sleeping through most of the night, which is something I haven't done in quite awhile.

Think I'll put my pjs on, relax and read awhile. Probably won't be awake to see the ball drop in Times Square. 2009 will come whether I watch it or not!

If you're going to be out and about, please drive carefully.

Have a healthy, happy New Year!!!

God bless,
Linda

Another six months

Yippee!!! Went to HUP this morning to see my oncologist and everything is going well!!! My blood pressure was up a little but nothing to be concerned about. Don't have to go back for six months, though I told her we will be moving to TN. Turns out she knows a doctor at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Nashville, which I've heard is a good place to go. Just have to check and see if they are in our insurance plan.

A little side note, in case you didn't know like me, Sarah Cannon was Minnie Pearl!! I can just hear you youngins saying "Minnie Pearl? Who's Minnie Pearl?" Ask your parents, they should know or better yet, Google it!!!

God bless,
Linda

Longwood Gardens

Last Saturday, December 6 I went with my friend, Bernie, and two of her friends on a bus trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. It is one of my favorite places to visit. No matter which season you go, it's always so beautiful!! Of course, these few pictures don't do it justice at all. It's a place to be seen in person to appreciate the beauty.

My friend, Bernie. She is a horse lover so she wanted her pic taken with this horse!

Me, myself and I!!! But, don't look at me....look at the beautiful background!

One of the many Christmas trees.

This was outside after it started snowing. I thought it was neat how the snowflakes show up as white specks!

The lights outside were gorgeous. I tried changing the setting on my camera, but as you can see, it didn't help! I would have been better off leaving it the way it was!

Saturday was also the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia. On our way down 95, the traffic was stopped for about 15-20 minutes because President Bush was going to the game. Those who sat in the front of the bus could see his motorcade but we were in the middle so didn't see it.

In one section of the Conservatory they had small trees which were decorated by different schools from both PA and NJ. We found one that was decorated by Grice Middle School, here in Hamilton Township.

I have to do a little researching to see if there is a place in TN like Longwood Gardens to visit when we move.

If you've never been there and live in the area, it's well worth the trip!

Gothic Arch

Snow is the theme this week. I'm getting this in under the wire. It's been hectic between work and home but finally was able to throw this together!
