All you need is love......

I made these cards tonight for Cards for Heroes.

I'm not crazy about the one with the staples but thought I'd give it a try. The original idea is from a card sketch book I bought. In the sketch they used regular staples but I only have the Fastenator so that's what I used.

Sandy posted on Facebook that she needs more cards so have to get going and get some done!

Think I'll go read for awhile.

God bless,
Linda

Cards for Heroes

I sent a box of 45 Cards for Heroes to Fabre yesterday. Here's a pic of some of them...

I will be getting started soon doing Christmas cards. It takes me awhile to get enough done to send so gotta start early!

Summer Haven 09 Challenge

I'm doing something I've never done before and never thought I would do....I'm actually participating in a Stamp Haven stamping challenge - Summer Haven 09. The event lasts two weeks. This is where different people submit ideas for cardmaking challenges. Some of them have to be done right away, some in a few days, and others give you the whole two weeks to create and submit your creations.

So far I've entered two creations:

For this one we had to follow a sketch provided.

This one required using either Mulberry paper or Vellum using either "I Miss You" or "I Love You" as the theme. I chose to use both Mulberry and Vellum on the same card. The card will later be sent to Cards for Heroes.

I'll post more as I get them done. Hey, this is fun!!

A time to celebrate.....

It's been so long since I've been on here, I almost forgot my password. And, of course, don't have it written down anywhere but, thankfully, finally remembered it!

This is a month for celebrations in our family....

Today is the third anniversary of my diagnosis for breast cancer. Some people might think that's an odd thing to celebrate but I'm alive! That's the celebration! It doesn't seem like three years sometimes; sometimes it feels like just yesterday. I can remember the whole day vividly. As I sit here I'm thinking about the day but I won't write about it as I'm sure no one wants to hear about it. All that matters now is that I'm still here to even remember. Thank you, Lord.

Our second celebration is coming up this Wednesday when my second oldest grandson, Kevin, graduates from sixth grade!! Where has the time gone?? Didn't he just start school yesterday?

Not only is he graduating but on Thursday he celebrates his 13th birthday! Oh my, another teenager! Good luck, Dawn! LOL

And, then our big celebration for the month is my oldest grandson's graduation from high school. Kenny graduates on the 17th and his parents are having a party for him on the 20th. This really is hard to believe! I remember when he was just a little boy. I remember his Grampy and I buying him his first two wheeler. Now he's old enough to drive a car (but sorry, we're not buying the first car!!). Time is going by just a little too fast!

Other things to celebrate this month are Flag Day on the 14th, Father's Day and the First Day of Summer on the 21st.

Hope your month of June will be as happy as ours will be!

God bless,
Linda
